Somebody fired my editor, so its not my fault that this hasn't been updated in 9 days. I've been sending in drafts for review, man my publisher is way behind. let me catch you up since last Saturday.


Sunday- Running, TONY ROMO!

Monday - Pillars, running, muhco hotties in the fitness center, bad timing for gas.

Tuesday- Workout, no burger and brew cause someone *cough cough Westman* is a wimp and gets food poisoning. food poisoning is for hippies and communist. Which are you Westman? My vote is for Nazi war sympathizer. Shame on you.

Wednesday- I have no idea what i did??????

Native American Pillage and Rape Remembrance Day - Run, Ate dinner with some of the guy and coach at the Electric Station. Only the most fabulous restaurant in all of Eugene. Then a cooked a Turkey. 6 hours for that puppy, man, 6 hours! It was delicious though. We ate again over at Joel's, He also made a bird. It was a good time for all. TONY ROMO!

Friday- Tempo work out, abs, drank wine, went to a movie, drank wine. No country for old man, the worst ending to a movie ever!

Saturday- ????? stufff and running prolly??? i prolly pooped on Saturday also. Oh, I watch some football over at Westmans. he's dating an Asian girl. I also made some CRAZY insane Pancakes. Bets I've ever made. Better then that Ratatiouli rat feller. Strawberry-banana, thats all im gonna say, and cinnamon, ill say that too.

Sunday - yeah boooooy! i went out ands bought the secret weapon. I bet every one of you thats reading this want to know what the secret weapon is, dontcha?!?!!?!? Well guess what, it'll scramble yo brains! I went running for an hour, biked for an hour, and did abs for 30. Sundays fitness center hottie score: ZERO... =(

I'm gonna try and be more up to date, but I've been really really busy, with all the important things i do all day long. Anyways, if i don't do another update today... you can call me a liar, a cheat, and a down right horrible person with little to no respect for anyone. Whats a humdinger??

I lied about the publisher and editor, they didn't get fired. they are just really lazy, and they are me.

blathering blatherskite!

Man... its been a hot minute since i've updated. In the time that has passed since i later wrote, my world has been thrown into turmoil. I am no longer the Monkey ball king. Matt Scherer stole my high score trophy. I have never met anyone in my life with such aptitude for internet flash games. Mouse-eye coordination that is second to none. But i now share the high score with Matt on for V:Force and Penguin slap. BOOOYA! ***Update*** New "chip it" Champ!

Anyways, Thursday i had a little bit of a work out. Just slowly working into getting back up on my toes a little. Did 2 miles of wind sprints. averaged 14-15 seconds on them staying fairly flat footed. so everything is going smoothly. We decided im going to take it easy through Thanksgiving and then start hammering it that fallowing week. besides that, Thursday was a really boring day. Just ate some food and went to work. I'm not going to tell you what i ate, cause apparently thats boring. I'm sorry if my gourmet delicacies that i slave over the stove for aren't good enough to talk about. Though bonus points for Thursday, was a good episode of Heroes i finally got around to watching. OH snap, i just remembered i watched the chronic... what? ..cles of Narnia. Oh man, when they killed the lion guy, i cried like a little girl. But dude, that whole scene was totally CGI. Real talking lions looking nothing like that when freshly shaved.

Friday. I've just lost all motivation to type. Did the same thing i do every Monday/ Friday. so you can figure it out. so today was a big deal for me. First Taco Bell meal since i've been out here. I figured i could give in to the Bell just this once. Who needs to lose weight anyways! Chicken Quasadilla, Cheesy Gordita Crunch, 2 Naco Cheese Calupas, Double Decker Taco... and a APPLE EMPANDA! WHAAAAAA? HOW THEY DO THAT?!?! After feeling bad about eating all that food, i decided to drown my sorrows. By eating an entire bag of peanut butter M&M's. Theres about 5,000 calories for the day. The good thing about the M&M's though, is that they kept me focused during our semi-weekly poker game. I brought home 80 buckaroos by winning the all in last hand with an ace high. I went home and ate a whole bag of apple cinnamon chex mix. By that time it was about 1am and i had a work out at 10 the next morning. Needless to say, i then putsed around on the runnerspace arcade for another hours or so.

The Hungarians are coming...

For those of you who don't know. My Roommate out here is from Hungry. Istvan kerekjarto is his name. After knowing a couple Hungarians back at Albany, i was prepared for the crazy European. But my amazement was brought to another level when Istvan showed me a special video. It is a video shown to school children through out all of Hungry. The clip showed the Hungarian Prime minister and Foreign minister signing the national anthem. theirs is way better then ours. see for yourself Here... ...no?

Can i get a Hoo-Haa two times Tuesdays??

I am the monkey ball king. I said it. I meant. Can you dig it?

So today i Had one off my first workouts back form being injured. Got up late as always. i sped at unnecessarily speeds to get to practice down at south Eugene on time. 8:57. How you like them apples Gags. Shot the shit with the big guy. Insulted Joel for turning and age that rounds up to 30. He enjoyed it. His enjoyment was sarcastic. Busted out a 15 minute warm up before doing some stretching and drills. Had 3x1 mile in 5:20 with 3 minutes jog recovery on amazon trails. An easy day cause i guess we are getting hammered Thursday and Saturday. Yippie. So i popped out a 5:12-5:10-5:09. A little ahead of pace but good for the first day back. i felt considerably relaxed for not running much lately. cooled down another 15. stopped at a 7/11 for a Gatorade. while i was in there i realized that it was the first time i had ever been in a 7/11.... with out buying beer. I headed back to the room and made some more of those kickass banana pancakes i make. They were so moist. moist. just say it... moist. I jumped on the bike for 30 mintues later in the afternoon before playing some monkey ball. If you didn't know, I am the monkey ball king. 6,230. Been there, done that.
BURGER AND A BREW. How i love thee. the last couple weeks i've switched over from the Heff, to this stuff called Mac & Jacks. Its and African amber lager brewed up in Portland. It ridiculous and great with a nice beef patty. Shawing! The majority of my dinner, and the subsequent 3 hours of my work night, were dominated by one thought. what was/is the best sequel ever. and this isn't even limited to movies. Such as, Disney World is way better then the original Disney Land. Unless your a horrible person from southern California, who has AIDS, and is named Tim Ramirez. Then you might think Disney Land is "way better." But during dinner and the two tutor sessions i dedicated entirely to this topic, instead of physics, we compiled the fallowing list.

Sounds like someones got a case of the mondays...

So its Sunday night and im watching the local news. The weather guy came on and told me some wonderful news. The rainy season was going to start any day now. Thats right, a grand 'ol time of rain and gloom. Flash forward to my alarm going off this morning. I open up the blinds, and you guessed it, rain. That guy was good. So besides for that it was like any other Monday. Today i was actually able to run, so i busted out a good 40 minute run on the way to Hayward. did the usual stretching, hurdle drills, drills and pillars. Got in a real solid lift and then went 15 minutes back to my apt. Took a nice long, hot steamy, sensual shower. Made some lunch. Starfish tuna suck donkey. Albertsons rocks. Ummmmm bananas.

I headed out to work for a couple hours, pretty much did nothing but online sudokus. Though i did have an enthralling conversation with Timothy Ramirez about Reeses pieces vs. peanut butter M&M's. We came to the conclusion that they are both equally awesome but in there owen ways. because even though when you think about then they are pretty much the same, they aren't even close. Reeses pieces are candy shell covered peanut butter flavored candy. where as the M&M's are shell covered chocolate with real peanut butter inside them. See how totally different they are! Most importantly, everyone says Reeses pieces wrong! its not Ree- cees pee-cees. Its Ree-siz pee-siz. Get it right you commies.
I now had a two hour break so i went back to chase village and hoped on the bike for 30 minutes, did 15 minutes of abs, went back to my room and grabbed a couple kiwis and headed back to work. I again did nothing and got payed for it.

It's the freakin weekend...

WOW! Let me tell you this was a weekend and a half! I had an outrageous time the past few days. Lets start off the journey of excitement where it started, Saturday morning. Woke up around 9 and headed to the fitness center. Once i got there, i went on the bike for an hour. Thats right, this guy went on the bike. I've begun to feel like JC, and i don't mean the carpenter. After that i skipped out on my abs cause i was feeling kinda beat. This is about the point where the excitement of my day starts. I go back to my room, showered, and headed over to Wal-mart!!!!! SHazam! I needed to pick up a measuring cup, but i was feeling wild and crazy like Omar Gooding, so i got some measuring spoons as well. After that i went back to my room and watched some crappy net flix movie i got in the mail. Conor McGovern. Later, i went back to the fitness center biked another 30 minutes and got around to doing my abs cause i felt guilty. showered.
Now it was show time. I went out and picked up a nice 18 oz New York sirloin. Took that baby home and showed her some of my moves. Sauted up some onion with a lil garlic and butter. Threw in a little Stella Artois to release a little flava. Seared each side of my baby for a minute or so and threw her in the oven... medium rare style. Thats how i like em.
That was pretty much it for my Saturday night, i think later on i made a cup of hot coaco and passed out.

Sunday, today, the day after Saturday, Veterans day. Slept in a little today, i woke up around 8, but had no reason to be up, so i just went back to bed till 11. Got up and did the same as i did the day before. Headed over to the fitness and hoped on the bike for an hour. Jolly 'ol time in deed. For todays workout viewing selection i had the early 2001 hit, "How High," staring Red Man and Method Man. Fortunately, my freshman year i was allowed to live with massive pot heads, and a drug dealer to boot, so i saw this movie about 73 time. Seriously. It actually brought back some fond memories. Conor McGovern. And by memories, I'm merely referring to the fragments my brain was able to hold onto during the "Beveragelly challenged time," that was my freshman year. 518. Did abs for the first quarter of the Dallas game. Did i ever mention that the t.v. i get to watch when i do all stuff in the fitness center is like 56"? Incase i haven't, its a 56 inch t.v.. After that, i ran back to my room during a commercial break, and noticed that during football games is the only time that they don't play commercials for a longer period of time then the show your watching. Owens supermaned on them hoes in the end zone and Eli threw a game ending pick, Dallas won. While i watched the game i made some delicious banana pancakes. From this point on i did basically nothing till around 8, at which point i went back for another hour on the bike. But, when i got there some girl had the audacity to be on it when i wanted to use it. So i had to use the elliptical for the first 20 minutes. Nothing, I mean NOTHING is more emasculating then using the elliptical. I firmly believe it was designed by a feminist, or some other type of women person. After that i got on the bike for the next 40 and finished off with another 15 minutes of abs just for the hell of it. Thats for you John Moore. And now im going to bed, after i finish this delicious hot coaco.

Vrijdag!

And Friday finally rolls around. this guy, big fan of Fridays. Stared off the day just like every monday and friday around here. Set my alarm for 8, hit snooze till abut 8:50, jump out bed when my lazy ass realizes its 8:50 and i have practice at 9. i get up and headed over to the chase village main office. this is the building we all meet at before practice. i make sure i grabbed a delicious cookie before we head out, this more often then not constitutes my breakfast. unfortunately, on this day of days, that was a horrible decision. let interject here by telling you they have these fresh baked cookies out every morning and they are freakin AWESOME! they got these double chocolate ones, oatmeal raisin, white chocolate macadamia cherry, all ridiculously, unnecessarily, diet ruiningly AWESOME. but today the sneaky bastards had a new cookie, some hip new cookie for the fall season, some cinnamon pumpkin abomination.
let me make this a little more visual. you see this moist, warm cookie. steam rises from it in the cool autumn morning air. soon your salivating uncontrollably, anxious to devour this little treasure that brightens your every morning. you open wide to take that first bight. but unlike the mornings of past, you experience a new sensation. instead of the usual oral euphoria that overcomes... vomit. straight up vomit in your mouth. WTF MATE! thats not what i signed up for man. not cool. anyways, i pawned the rest of the cookie off on one of the other guys with my suave intellect. "hey man.. you try this new cookie yet? its pretty good." sucker.

so from this juncture, the rest of the morning when as per usual. 40 minute run over to hayward. i hoped on the bike for the first 20 to warm up the achilles and then finished up with 20 more minutes over to hayward. you can get there in about 10, but we loop out to get the extra time. once we got there its the usual, sit around and stretch lackadaisically talking about the latest in runnerspace news. today big topic, bloody penguin, and the technique vs. luck debt of getting a high score. i say luck, pure and simple. after this we actually do some good stretching before we get into our hurdle drills. spend about 10 minutes on those and then another 10 on regular drills. then its time for pillars, but today we did strides first and then did pillars in the weight room. we had 6 forward and 3 backwards stride, but this little piggy had none.. cause his Achilles tendon is a homosexual. we went over to the weight room and got in some good pillars. pillars are basically all these different crazy.. things.. i dunno what to call them. but there great core work. after that we just do our lifting for the day. i usually stick around a little long to get in some more abs. once thats done its just a 20 minute run back to chase to veg out for the rest of the day.

Around 4pm i go to the fitness center to get in my extra cardio in. went for 50 minutes on the bike. watched a pretty good episode of law and order while doing it. some one got murdered, it wasn't the person they thought it was about 5 times and after the 6th plot twist, they realized it really was the person they though it was the first time. shocking. i was gonna stick around and do some more abs, but there were these 3 asian kids and a tall white guy in the corning talking about all this pseudo meat head talk. "dude, these curse are like totally awesome. look how awesome i'm doing them" "no way dude, i saw some guy, doing these killer push up. i'm gonna do like 400 of them right now." "MUSCLE MILK!!!" sadly, they were all, except for the fat friend, scrawnier then me. which is kinda impressive in its own way, you must actually try pretty hard to be that scrawny. but back to the point, it was annoyingly obvious they were trying to impress the marginally attractive girl, at best, on the step master on the other side of the room. at this point in time i could feel myself getting dumber just by hear them in on ear and the 73 plot twist on the next episode of what seems to be TNT's daily law and order marathon event of the year, in the other. i bounced with authority.

yadda yadda yadda.. i found a 6 pack off beer magically in front on my bedroom door and i have no idea where it came from. yadda yadda yadda.. i wasted some time. its down to a three pack. yadda yadda yadda.. i wrote this and went to bed.

Weak game...

So, i've had this thing for about 3 days and i've already realized... im bringing weak game. my daily updating has already turned into tri-weekly. not so smooth. everyone knows chick dig guys with sweet blogging skillzzz.

so anyways... back to Wednesday. Wednesdays is our weekly recovery day, just a good easy run to make the body feel good. no set distance or time.. just whatever you need to keep up with yuor weekly mileage. since my weekly mileage has been about 0 for the past month, i opped out and just took a twirl on the village bicycle. literally, i went on the Chace village exorcise bike like i do everyday. In the am i went for a solid hour at a pretty good clip, got in about 22 miles. after then when home vegged out for a while and hit up the tutoring center. in the evening i came back and got in another 30 minutes this time doing about 9 miles. then got in a good core workout for about 40 minutes. M-W-F are my hard core (haha... hardcore.. get it.. yeah, i guess its not really funny) days, the rest of the week is usually easer at 20-30 minutes.

On to Thursday... this Thursday was kinda special. the first day we were allowed to lace up the spikes in practice. the guys had a killer work out 5x300 at 45 with 1 minute rest, fallowed by 6 minutes rest and a 1200 in 70-65-60 for the three quarters. another 6 minutes rest and finishing up with another 5x300, this time is 42 with the spikes on. would have been a sweet work out, but since im just coming back i had an easy work out. mine went as fallows. 20 mintue warn up. stretch, drills and whatnot... fallowed by another 20 mintues slightly elevated. jumped on the track to do 2 miles of sprint the strait jog the turn. and i use sprint loosely cause i was only going 15-16ish. then a 20 minute cool down. so i got a good 1:15 or so of running in, which is'nt to shabby for me right now. after that i went back home.. ate mad tuna and shitted around on runnerspace for a while. runnerspace is a new facebook meets letsrun kinda website my coach is putting together. hes spent a ridiculous amount of time on this site... its gonna be huge. and for my boys back in Albany HUUUUGGGEEEE--aaaaaa! later in the day i went over to the fitness center, jumped on the bike for 30 minutes and banged out another 20 minutes of abs. not to shabby of a day

Am i sposta have a clever title...?

So.. where to start. If your reading this, theres about a 99.99% chance you know me. But if your that .01... heres the lowdown. My name is Gered Burns, i run well, but do my typing and grammar not so good. I've spent my entire life in the little upstate new York wonderland known as Awl-buh-nee. I moved out Eugene Oregon about two months ago to run, train and hopefully make a US national team. Thats about it... i basically created this thing cause there is nothing to do out here but train your ass off. This is pretty much gonna be a running log/ random bullshit that flows outa my noggin.

Tuesday, November 6th...
-Kinda been a big day, coach actually let me do part of a work out today. for those of you who aren't up to speed, i rolled my ankle about a month ago and thoroughly retardafide my achilles. So back to todays work out. pretty easy day for everybody 7x800 at 2:35 on the amazon trail fallowed by 4x200 on the track. Coach only let me do four 8's cause it was my first day back. so

my workout went as such...
-20 minute warm up
-4x800 2:34, 2:32, 2:32, 2:32. two min jog inbetween
-20 minute cool down
-back over to the fitness center for 60 minutes on the bike
-35 minutes of core/abs/pushups
-cookies.....

On tap for the rest of my exciting day includes the fallowing. Rushing back to the apartment so ic an jump in the shower and use up all the hot water before my roommate gets back. we have the worlds smallest water heater. i swear. i will then proceed to spend the next 6 hours doing absolutely nothing.. literally nothing. i will not get a single productive thing done in the next 6 hours. after that... is the money shot... BURGER AND A BREW. Tuesdays are really my favorite day of the week. theres this bar here, and on Tuesdays you get this beast of a burger and a pint of and brew on tap.. all for 6 bucks. 6BUCKS! this things got three cheese, bacon, grilled onions and mushrooms, guacamole, tomato, lettuce, mayo, bbq... everything! after eating this fine meal ill throw back another brew or two and head to work. I work as a tutor at UofO... so basically i do nothing, and get paid. its a nice hookup.

Aight... these things are always gonna be this long. im just bored and.. yeah...
